Direct answer: Samsung is adding Hungarian and Malay to Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist, while Now Nudge adds eight languages. Bixby separately adds Polish, Thai and Vietnamese. Bixby's rollout began October 14; Samsung says the Galaxy AI additions will follow in the coming weeks, with schedules and features varying by device and country.

The important detail is that this is not one universal language list for every Galaxy AI feature. Samsung published three separate matrices for translation and productivity tools, Now Nudge and Bixby. Check the specific feature you want before assuming that a language is available across the whole phone.

Which new languages did Galaxy AI and Bixby add?

Hungarian and Malay are coming to four Galaxy AI feature groups: Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist. Samsung says these additions bring that group to 24 supported languages. Call Assist includes Live Translate, while the other tools cover notes, in-person interpretation, recordings, transcription and summaries.

This announcement does not say that every Galaxy AI feature supports the same 24 languages. Samsung's current Galaxy AI page lists different totals for tools such as Photo Assist, Writing Assist, Now Brief and Call Screening. The 24-language figure in the announcement applies to the named group, not to every AI experience.

Note Assist language availability is also a different issue from cross-version file compatibility. If notes stop syncing after an update, use the separate Samsung Notes One UI 9 sync guide rather than treating a new language pack as a sync repair.

Which languages are new for Now Nudge?

Now Nudge adds Dutch, Filipino, Gujarati, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Swedish and Turkish. Samsung says that brings Now Nudge to 24 languages.

Now Nudge is the feature that suggests a next action based on what is on screen. Its language list is separate from the translation-and-summary group above, even though both totals are now 24. Matching totals do not mean matching languages or matching feature availability.

Which languages are new for Bixby?

Bixby adds Polish, Thai and Vietnamese, bringing Samsung's device agent to 12 supported languages. Samsung describes Bixby as a natural-language way to control a device, find settings and ask questions without knowing an exact menu name.

Bixby requires a Samsung Account and a data connection. Samsung also says functions can vary by country, region and language. It does not promise recognition of every accent, dialect or expression, and performance can vary with pronunciation, voice level and the surrounding environment.

Device control through Bixby should not be confused with SmartThings' local-control path. Readers troubleshooting home-device availability can use the separate SmartThings Now local-control guide, which covers supported hubs, Wi-Fi and cloud-dependent functions.

When will the new languages arrive?

Samsung says the new Bixby languages began rolling out on October 14, 2026. The new Galaxy AI languages are scheduled to follow in the coming weeks. Samsung does not provide one global completion date or a device-by-device schedule in the announcement.

Some Galaxy AI languages can be downloaded as language packs from Settings. That does not establish immediate availability on every device: Samsung says detailed schedules and features can vary by device or country. A missing language on the first day therefore does not prove that the device will never receive it.

Why might support differ on your phone?

Galaxy AI availability can depend on device model, OS or One UI version, region, country and carrier. Certain features may also require a Samsung Account. Before relying on a language for travel, calls, school or work, check the exact feature on the exact device and install any offered software and language-pack updates.

Bixby can also be limited while recording video, games or voice, during calls, and in Maximum Power Saving mode, Emergency mode or Samsung Kids. Those operating limits are separate from whether the language itself appears in the supported list.

What should you check now?

  1. Identify the exact feature: Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter, Transcript Assist, Now Nudge or Bixby.
  2. Update the phone and relevant Samsung apps when an update is offered.
  3. Open Settings and check whether the required language pack is available for download.
  4. Confirm the feature on the exact device and in the current country rather than relying only on the headline total.
  5. For Bixby, confirm Samsung Account login and a working data connection.

The practical takeaway is simple: Samsung is widening language access, but the rollout is staged and feature-specific. Use the named feature matrix and current device settings as the decision point, not a blanket assumption that every Galaxy AI tool now has the same language coverage.
